To God be the Glory! I am so happy for you both! You guys are perfect for each other. Beautiful website for beautiful people with beautiful souls... Becoming one.
Margaret is married to my cousin Vincent and has been a part of my family for as long as I can remember. Since the very first day that I met her, I fell in love with her sweet soul, old spirit and humbleness. I remember having the best time of my life during a family sleepover at her and my cousins house one day. We stayed up all night talking about our life, watching movies and eating her famous broccoli casserole.. Right before we would tell each other our secrets we would say "now you know we have to be best friends once I tell you this".. Margaret has always been there for me.. She's like the big sister I never had but always dreamed of. I’m truly "honored" to have her as my Matron of Honor in our wedding.
I am extremely honored that my big brother accepted my request as being my best man because he is really special to me. He continues to display what a man is supposed to be like and what a man should do. He was the vision and model that I saw daily and I can never repay him for that.
Robin is Chris sister. I have known her for about three years and she has always welcomed me in the family with loving open arms. I love Robin’s personality.. She’s so gentle, supportive, smart and down to earth. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for us and Roxy.
My hard working sister. Now, this is the sister that I had to ask if she could be my bridesmaid. This is the sister that if you want her to be in something you have to give her a year notice and a reminder so that she can actually take the days off work!! This sister of mine never stops working! I am soooo glad that she agreed to be my bridesmaid during our special day. I am so proud of her success, she makes my heart smile.
Oh, Shawn.. Let me tell you about this chick! Shawn is my cousin and we have ALWAYS been close. We have this love, hate relationship where we would stop talking to each other and then randomly just find ourselves back together again. I remember so many nights when we were teenagers we would get in trouble for sneaking out the house together. If Shawn was gone, Qua was too. If Qua was somewhere she wasn’t supposed to be then you better know Shawn was with me. We were always glued together and I was right by her side when she gave birth to her children who are my god babies. She even named my youngest god baby after me! Our wedding would not have been special if she was not included in the “bride crew”. My love for her is endlessly.
I knew that molly was going to be in our wedding so I never asked her. I just told her that she was going to be in it. Lol. This was something that we as close sisters already knew. From day one, molly has helped me with planning everything for our wedding. She has made the life of a bridezilla completely easy and stress free. I love how big her heart is and how she is willing to do whatever it takes to make sure her big sister is happy on our special day.
BJ is Qua’s brother . He’s a strong young man with a good head on his shoulders. He’s a wonderful father to Qua’s niece and nephew Kaiden & Niya. He’s my lil bro.
Vincent is Qua’s cousin. He is a really good man, big heart and an awesome father to his children. I am inspired by his marriage and genuine love to wife Margaret. Vincent is truly special to Qua, so to get his approval to be a groomsman really meant a lot to me.
Wylie and I go back to middle school at Griffin. We have cracked jokes and cracked skulls out on the football field in high school. Wylie has always been real with me. I had the pleasure of being in his beautiful wedding when he married his wife Chrissy, so it’s only right I have my brother there to support me on my wedding day.
Juice and I have been rocking since elementary school. I have known him my entire life, literally. We grew up together and graduated high school together. We have been through a lot and seen a lot. That’s my dog! He’s my brother from another mother.
Lyric is the first child of my first Niece Trevia. She is also my Brothers first grandchild. She is a gorgeous, smart, loving and sweet baby girl.
Kaiden is my first and only nephew. I love him deeply and I can’t wait to see him dressed up in his little suit walking down the aisle with my ring!
My protector and my nurturer. I am so thankful for both of my parents. You both display a unique and different way of parenting. You both have always supported me in every decision that I've made in my life. I love you both unconditionally. Thank you for molding me and shaping me into split images of you both.
I can’t thank anyone but the one above for my two creators. I love my father unconditionally. He helped bring me into this world and I will always be there for him. My Mother, the strongest woman on earth that I’ve ever seen, did everything she could for us. I am eternally grateful for having Joyce Sharpe as my mother and I know that she is smiling with our heavenly father looking over me. I will spend all my days of my life making my parents proud to call me their son.
My brother.. My only brother! We fought like cats and dogs growing up. I had fun beating you up until one day you gained muscle and dropped me on my neck. You have ALWAYS had a special place in my heart. I would give you the shirt off my back at any given time on a rainy day! I adore you.
Kadesha, you were the quiet one of all of us. I have never met someone who was so quiet and silly at the same time. I love that our relationship is growing stronger daily. I have always admired your strong work habits. I have yet to meet someone who has never taken a day off work and actually enjoy working hard every day all day. “She got 6 jobs, she don’t get tired”. I love you baby!!
My baby sister and blood couldn’t make us any closer. You were my shadow. I took you everywhere with me. I have literally watched you grow up to be this amazing, outspoken, smart and vibrant beautiful lady. You will always and forever be my baby. I love you so much molly, you are my A1 day1..My rider and my partner!!
Robin is really my rock. We use to fight like you know what lol, but we never stopped loving eachother. We have always stuck together no matter the situation or outcome. She's literally my rock!! I love her dearly.
My brother Travis laughs when I tell him I look up to him. My brother is one of the first true definitions of a real man I ever saw in my life. I Love my Big Brother. He is an absolute inspiration and a wonderful father and grandfather to my First Niece Trevia and her two beautiful girls, one which will be our flower girl and my Nephew Travis jr.
Qua always say me, Meka and Travis all hold our mouth a certain way and it looks so silly when I realized that we all do it so naturally. I never knew how strong Lynwood’s genes are until Qua pointed out all of our similar characteristics. My sister Meka is absolutely amazing. Just simply amazing! She is a wonderful, hard working mother all of my beautiful nieces. She really goes the extra mile for her family and I love her dearly for that.
This proposal literally took me 3 attempts! It started when we decided to go on a cruise August of 2016. I had her rings for 4 months hiding in my closet. I was completely unsure how I was going to propose to her all I knew was I wanted her to be my wife. So one day as I was making preparations for our cruise vacation, I instantly thought about popping the big question at one of the restaurants on the ship followed by a nice special dinner with all the trimmings. Qua, being the nosy person she is, figured out some way that I had already brought the rings so she knew that the proposal was coming soon. In random conversations she’d ask “baby do you think you’ll propose to me on the cruise”? I would kindly tell her to stop getting her hopes up because I wasn’t going to risk losing the ring on the ship in Mexico or the Cayman Islands. I informed her of a pervious conversation of her telling me that wanted her family to be around during the time of the proposal so proposing on a cruise away from family was not going to happen. Fast Forward. The first day of being on the boat we were in the room unpacking, she’s looking through my papers and BOOM! She found an email that I printed out from the chefs on the boat and the title of the email was "Engagement proposal"...... I immediately snatched the papers out of her hand and was livid (First attempt). I stayed up all night trying to strategize on unique and special ways to get the proposal over with. At this point, we’ve been on the boat about two days now. I noticed a lot of photographers around while we were out at the bars and during casino. I told Qua that I was going to the restroom and I stopped one of them on the way to the restroom. I told him I was going propose to Qua and I needed his help. All I asked the guy to do was, during one of the shots just have Qua turn away from me and then when she turns back around I would be down one knee. Sounds simple right? Wrong! He agreed to the picture proposal and informed us of a time to be ready. We spent the whole day in Caymans Island where we made some incredible friends; we danced, laughed, played the casino and lost a lot of money. We went back up to our room to rest a little. Hours pass and I ask her if she wants to dress up to go out to dinner. She agrees and we get dressed. She knew from the email that I was going to propose to her during dinner. So she’s happy, putting on makeup, fixing her hair really nice and singing. I laughed and let her have her moment. I left the room, went downstairs and rushed to one of the jewelry stores. The box that the ring came in was too large and bulky in my pocket (they were going bring it out to the table with the first proposal attempt). I went inside the jewelry store to offer to buy one of their boxes. When I told the guy what I needed it for he just gave it to me. I went back up to get her so that we could go to dinner together. The whole time she’s smiling from ear to ear at the dinner table waiting on the proposal. We ate dinner and when we were done I asked her was she finished with her food. She looked as if I had completely ruined her life and said “This it, so we are just eating and leaving”. I said yes, baby what did you want to happen? Lol. She said nothing and stated that she needed to go to the room to take a nap. I asked her if she could take the nap after we took pictures and she agreed. We met up with the photographer and he first started taking our pictures in different areas on the boat individually. Then, for some awkward reason he wanted to go outside to get a few shots with the sun setting. Let’s remember that we are on a cruise ship, in the middle of the ocean, in a hot climate. It’s like 100 degrees, humid and the windy. I could see the disgust on Qua’s face as her hair blew all over the place while she was still trying to look cute and pose for the pictures. So, THEN the moment finally came (second attempt). After about the 4th shot outside I was like trying to signal to him that’s it’s over, no, I’m not going to do this right now because we didn’t feel comfortable with the wind blowing everywhere. The photographer insisted that he was going to keep taking pictures and starts signaling me like "yeah, go ahead ". He even took it upon himself to ask Qua about her promise ring that I had given her. He says “ohh, that’s a nice ring, are you two married”. That did it for me! Qua still didn’t catch on and told the photographer that the ring was a promise ring. The photographer then says, oh wow that’s nice. Chris, get on one knee and act like you’re proposing to Qua. (Jaw dropper). I was livid AGAIN but did exactly what he asked because I didn’t want Qua to realize what we were doing. After that picture I thanked the photographer for his services and Qua and I left. SECOND attempt failed. We went back to the room to change our clothes and freshen up. Later that night we decided to go the bar. We had a few drinks, played casino, socialized with our friends that we met and partied. While we were at the bar, I noticed that Qua was unstrapping her heels. I asked if she wanted me to take her heels upstairs and grab her flats. She said yes, and gave me her heels. Bingo!! (THRID ATTEMPT). I walked away as if I was going to take her heels upstairs. I saw a waiter walking by and stopped him. I told him that I was about to walk to the bar and propose to my lady. I kindly asked if he could just video tape the proposal. He agreed and I instantly started sweating and shaking. I couldn’t believe that I was about to propose to her and after so many attempts it was going to finally happen. The feelings and emotions that ran through my body and mind were unbelievable. All I knew was that I wasn’t leaving this cruise without asking for Qua’s hand in marriage. The time has finally come!! I walked around the corner and there she was talking to Miranda and Ronnie, the wonderful people we met. As nervous as I was, I tapped her on the shoulder; I got down on one knee and my heart felt like it was beating through my chest. I told her that she was my world and that my heart beats stronger every day because of her. I reminded her that she was heaven sent from God and that I could not live another day without asking for her hand in marriage and making her my wife. By this time, I am tearful and everyone in the bar was looking as I said Cquadayshia Lynette Harington, will you marry me?
I first noticed Qua on Facebook. (Yes, Facebook). We were from the same place, went to the same High School and I never seen her until I added her as a friend on Facebook. In August of 2014 she messaged me on Facebook about a job opportunity that she thought I may have been interested in from a previous post of mine. From that day forward I would find myself browsing on her Facebook page and liking ALL of her pictures. After several inbox conversations and many attempts of me showing my interest, she FINALLY gave me her number and the rest was history.
We communicated by phone for three months before we actually met each other in person. During that time, Qua was on a spiritual fast and recommended that we not see each other until her fast was over. Although I was caught by surprise, I accepted her recommendations and randomly asked to join the fast with her. She agreed and educated me of why she was fasting, the length of her fast and what she was letting go of and I did the same. For three months, we stopped eating certain foods, we prayed together every night and morning by phone and we sent each other scriptures throughout the day. I had never done a fast before so this was the most challenging intense fast I had ever seen. I was completely amazed that I learned so much about her without even knowing her or seeing her in person. God had drawn us closer to each other and we were connected in so many ways. Right before the three months was up, Qua and I had gained a spiritual and mental relationship which included God. I fell in love with the God in her and I knew during the fast that she would one day be my wife.
